Mission: Our lab aims to develop innovative technologies of seismic imaging and well-logging for oil and gas exploration. In particular, we focus on time/depth seismic imaging, earth model building, and petrophysics for conventional and unconventional reserviors. Main focuses are (i) to develop time/depth migration algorithms for seismic imaging, (ii) to develop seismic/well-logging integrated earth model building approaches for depth seismic imaging, and (iii) to develop amplitude variation with offset (AVO) and microseismic techniques for evaluation/monitoring of oil and gas production. We create an environment that encourages learning, testing and creating of new ideas and concepts in geophysics.
Our lab focuses on data processing in seismic imaging and well-logging for oil ans gas exploration.
Skills:
1. Software development for seisimic/well-logging data processing with Fortran, C/C++, and MATLAB.
2. Programming for seimic imaging in time/depth domain.
3. Programming for well-logging (electric, induction, accoustic and NMR).
Expertise:
1. NMR well-logging (data processing and sensor design).
2. High vertical resolution well-logging sensor design/data processing (electric, induction, accoustic, nuclear and NMR).
3. Seismic imaging in time/depth domain, including velocity analysis.
4. Seismic wave theory, simulation and inversion.
Experience:
1. NMR well-logging data processing for high vertical resolution.
2. High resolution enhancement of well-logs (electric, induction, accoustic, nuclear and NMR).
